Holocaust and Heroism Memorial House

Holocaust survivors, Irena and Kuba Wodzeslawske, have dedicated their lives to speaking on behalf of those who cannot. Their mission began to materialize in 2001 with the establishment of the Holocaust and Heroism Memorial House in Ariel.

This unique museum, which takes up four floors in the Wodzeslawske’s own home, strives to impart an understanding of the Holocaust to today’s generation. With the sunset of the last surviving witnesses to the Holocaust fast taking place, it has become more urgent than ever for new, well-educated and trained Holocaust narrators to make their voices heard.

The Holocaust and Heroism Memorial House seeks to answer this call with a one of a kind program that teaches Ariel’s school kids to be the next generation of Holocaust narrators.

Irena and Kuba’s museum offers a personal narrative, touch, and expertise that is unique among museums of its kind, and it is crucial that their story be passed on to the next generation. Doing so will not only empower the youth who participate in the program, but also Israel, and the cause of freedom itself.

Plans include making the museum an ongoing source for personal encounters for national and international visitors. To accomplish this requires both trained narrators and a means for maintaining the condition of the museum’s many rare photographs and artifacts.
