Mission Statement

Keizer Heritage Foundation, established in 1988, completed the restoration of the 1916 "Old Keizer School" in late 1999. It is now the Keizer Heritage Community Center. The building houses Keizer Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center, Keizer Art Association Gallery and classroom, Keizer Reading Connection (small local library), the Young Life of Keizer office and Keizer Heritage Museum (opened in February 2000 and is still growing). In addition it has meetings rooms for use by the public, community and non-profit groups for meetings, reunions, weddings and other events (seating 100 for banquets or 130 for theater style events). KHF is supported by member's dues and contributions.

Program 1

Keizer Heritage Foundation, with the restoration of this 1916 School, has preserved one of the only remaining historic buildings in Keizer. It has become a focal point for the city as a Community Center. It is located in the City Hall complex and accessible to the community. KHF has two programs. One is the growth of the Keizer Heritage Museum, which just opened in February 2000. Contributions are needed to acquire adequate display cases for all of the items donated for security and preservation purposes, organize and categorize materials that have been donated or loaned over the years, establish an off-site storage area for items to be held and used in the rotating display areas planned in the future and for general operating needs. The second program is to establish the Community Center as a place for community organizations and non-profit organizations to meet. In addition, KHF, an all-volunteer organization, is managing the rental of the meeting rooms to the public for use in weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, business meetings and other community events. The funds from these rentals will help support future operation of the building and help expand the Museum.
