Ruth Gundle

BIO

Ruth Gundle is one of the founders and has served as director since 1995. She is also the Publisher of the Eighth Mountain Press. She co-founded and co-directed The Flight of the Mind Writing Workshops for Women on the McKenzie River. She received a B.A. from Antioch College in 1970 and a J.D. from Rutgers Law School in 1975. Between 1975 and 1985 she practiced law, in Oregon?s first public interest law firm (which she co-founded) and as Litigation Director for Oregon Legal Services, where she also litigated major women?s rights cases. She was an adjunct faculty member of the Northwestern School of Law from 1978 to 1994 which honored her with the Wold Award for her ?work on behalf of all women? and the Distinguished Professor Award.
