Nonprofits: Uncle Sam Wants Your Comments on the Federal Grant Process

September 2002

If your organization has ever applied for or received a federal grant, now you can help improve the process. Through October 11, 2002, the Office of Management and Budget is accepting comments on proposals for simplifying federal grant procedures. The proposals are posted at  White House Web site. Nonprofits can file their comments directly with the OMB by
e-mailing tramsey@omb.eop.gov or through OMB Watch.

For background information on the project, go to OMB Watch's grant streamlining Web page. OMB Watch, the Urban Institute, and GuideStar have cosponsored a project to give nonprofits a voice in how the federal government revises its grant application and reporting processes.
