Select and Compare Organizations

Have you ever noticed the GuideStar Premium toolbox that appears at the top of your search results and the organization details page? It gives you quick access to four of GuideStar Premium's features: download queue, saved organizations, saved searches, and comparison set. Here, we're looking at comparison set, which gives you the ability to select and compare up to four organizations.

Selecting Organizations

There are two ways you can add an organization to your comparison set:

1. Click "Add to Comparison Set" under the organization's name in the search results.
2. Click "Add" under "Comparison Set" in the toolbox on the organization details page (shown in the first illustration on this page).

A pop-up box will confirm that you have added the organization to your comparison set.

Comparing Organizations

When you are ready to compare the organizations in your comparison set, click the "Compare" link in either the comparison set confirmation box or your toolbox.

A pop-up window will show the organizations side by side, compared according to several criteria, including revenue, expenses, and compensation for highest-paid employees.

1. Buttons at the top of the page let you save the comparison set to PDF, print a hard copy, and access the GuideStar Premium FAQs. (You can also get to the FAQs from the toolbox.)
2. You can link to an organization's organization details page from the comparison set.
3. You can also link to the latest IRS Form 990 we have for an organization from the comparison set.
4. Buttons at the bottom of the page let you delete one or more of the organizations from the comparison set.
