Charting Impact is led by three organizations that have worked across the nonprofit and philanthropic sector for decades. The BBB Wise Giving Alliance, GuideStar USA, and Independent Sector each bring unique strengths and capabilities to this joint effort.
Charting Impact helps your organization maximize its impact and tell your story in an accessible, concise way. People want to help you make a difference—through donations, volunteering, and more—but often struggle to find a clear, compact, consistent resource that helps them understand what individual nonprofits are working to achieve. Your responses to five simple yet powerful questions will enable your organization, your supporters, and the nonprofit community collectively to serve people across the country and around the world more effectively.
Charting Impact encourages strategic thinking about how you will achieve your goals. It also creates a report that lets you share concise, detailed information about plans and progress with key stakeholders, including the public. It was designed with several benefits in mind, including:
You must have GuideStar credentials to log in to Charting Impact. If you are not already registered with GuideStar follow these steps to get your credentials:
Note: If your organization has a parent organization, your parent organization must register you for Charting Impact. If you do not have a separate EIN, you will need to ask your parent organization to assign a Charting Impact report to you.
If your organization is a religious institution, follow these instructions to have it added to the GuideStar database.
