Beacon Farm to School

Our Farm to School programming provides educational experiences for school-aged students from pre-K through 8th grade and their families through authentic interactions with professionals in the local food economy. CGF works to increase access to fresh vegetables for students in the cafeteria and for their families through community-based opportunities. CGF also provides produce for the cafeterias and offers professional development training for food service staff.

The Beacon Farmers' Market serves to support regional farms and food access initiatives by convening a weekly market-place on Main Street in Beacon. The market takes SNAP, FMNP, and WIC, and offers its own Greens4Greens program, which helps families on federal food aid double their spending on fresh fruits and vegetables at the Beacon Farmers’ Market and mobile markets. In addition, we operate an end of market donation program to ensure that locally sourced, nutrient-dense food is given to people who need it.
