What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Racial Justice Program

Our Racial Justice program is led by our Racial Justice Advisory Committee – a group of people of color committed to anti-oppression work who are contracted by the PJC to guide our work. We offer workshops to the public and to faith groups, schools, and other community groups. We are also working with a racial bias data collection group to look at what has been studied, what has not, and what we can do to utilize the data to make a more just world through education and policy changes.

Population(s) Served
Adults

Our Peace Education Program offers educational workshop including Nonviolent Engagement in Conflict, Nonviolent Activism 101, and Mindfulness for Activists. We also do peace recruiting at area high schools to encourage youth to pursue educational and work opportunities outside of the military. We work directly with high school students and also offer training and resources to other people who want to recruit for peace.

Our Fair Trade Program’s Cocoa Campaign continues to raise awareness about child trafficking and slavery in the cocoa industry through presentations at elementary, middle, and high schools and at public events where we give away hot chocolate along with educational information on the cocoa industry.
