Spotlighters Theatre
Spotlighters Theatre produces 10 Mainstage productions each year, along with 4-8 workshop productions. Spotlighters supports 6 Cabaret shows, 8 Improv performances and 4 NewWorks Readers productions for a total of 198 performances. These performances were viewed by 6732 audience members.
Spotlighters Educational Program
Spotlighters seeks to provide educational opportunities for both adults and youth. The adult educational program provides workshops for adults in various aspects of theatre training. The youth educational program is concentrated in summer programing. The current Young Actors program includes a 6 week summer program (130hrs) for High School, Middle School and Lower School youth. The AfterSchool programs focus on basic theatre education for Lower & Middle School youth, with specialized intensives for High School youth and adults.
Spotlighters Young Actors Academy
Theatre education designed for students in K - 12 th grades. Providing an academic/conservatory approach to teaching theatre concepts. Provides students opportunities to explore different aspects of theatre, while exploring their understanding of the world around them, and gaining self confidence and knowledge.

What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Spotlighters is seeking to develop a 20,000 sf Community Arts Center in the Bromo Arts District of Baltimore, that will provide a permanent home for Spotlighters Theatre to perform, as well as offering a second performance space as a rental space for local theatres and arts organizations. The new larger space will provide for expanded Education programs, and develop deeper ties with the community, and linkages to local schools. Spotlighters seeks to become a leading organization in local theatre, and offer not only quality productions, but opportunities for local artists and audience to experience live theatre.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Develop a strong patron base, that includes long term and sustaining donors.
Develop a layered Educational Program, offering a variety of programs for all ages, K - 12th grades, and young adults and adults.
Develop a corporate relationship with numerous businesses that are invested in seeing improvements in our neighborhoods and it's residents.
Develop programs that invite local residents to meet and learn from local artists in multiple genres.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Spotlighters is working with a Capital Campaign manager to develop a stronger donation base, and to develop ways to better recognize and honor our donors.
Spotlighters is working with local schools to offer in-school and after-school theatre education programs.
Spotlighters is establising a set of bench marks for all productions to increase the level of success and raise the standards of each production.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Spotlighters Educational Programs are expanding and reaching out to new populations.
Spotlighters is working with city organizations and private contractors to develop a property that will be the theatre's new home.
Spotlighters is maintaining and increasing a 66% audience occupancy rate for shows.
