What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Children Acchieving Through Community Hope (CATCH)
Roxbury Weston Pr
ograms after-school enrichment program, CATCH (Children Achieving Through Community Hope), is located in Roxbury and serves children in Kindergarten through 3rd grade.
The curriculum of this program is aligned with Weston Public Schools. The staff of the Roxbury Weston Programs places equal emphasis on the physical, emotional, social and intellectual growth of children. In developmentally appropriate methods, they support a child's academic success by helping the child develop learning skills and by nurturing their overall growth. Research also shows that high quality after-school programs, like Roxbury Weston's, further aid in closing the achievement gap because of the educational support, enrichment and “wrap around care” they provide.
When high quality early education guidelines are aligned with kindergarten and primary grade experiences, a child is prepared for the best educational success. Addressing the whole child at the very beginning of their education can significantly close the achievement gaa distinction that only eight percent of early childhood programs hold and CATCH has received many commendations for excellence.
Roxbury Weston Preschool
Within our Preschool, children learn and understand diversity, mutual respect, and cooperation which transforms their behavior and learning for life, making them engaged citizens. Our programs serve a racially diverse mixture of children from both the inner city setting and suburban Metro-west populations, allowing access to all by offering scholarships to our Preschool for the economically disadvantaged. Our families and teachers come in many forms, from a wide variety of cultures and ethnicities, and belief systems. We address culture and promote inclusion of all. Addressing the whole child at the very beginning of their education can significantly close the achievement gachildren develop language, social-emotional capital, physical and cognitive skills during the first five years of life. When high quality early education guidelines are aligned with kindergarten and primary grade experiences, such as at Roxbury Weston, a child is prepared for the best educational success. Roxbury Weston Preschool allows children to excel in a diverse community of inclusion and supportive, high quality education.
