Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
provide low cost single-family and multi-family housing and related services, for low income tenants or buyers. We will continue to develop, rehabilitate housing for the low to moderate income that will provide them with the opportunity to own, maintain, or lease. WCCA may sell, or transfer a housing project for low and moderate income rental under the authority so granted by the Michigan State Housing Development Authority. This may include partnering with community groups, governmental agencies, other non-profit organizations, and/or some businesses.
Economic Literacy classes are conducted that instruct on debt-free finances, homeownership, consumer automotive purchasing, plus investments and savings. These classes provide information to assist individuals in obtaining the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively manage their money and positively impact their credit. The benefits of this knowledge are intended to expand personal finance opportunities, including homeownershiresume writing and job placement opportunities through networking with various businesses are also incorporated into these classes and training.
The World Changers Learning Center [WCLC] will offer an affordable children?s day care based on the family income. WCLC plans to be a full-scale Learning Center for ages 2 to 12 with a latch-key program. Recreational and educational activities will be conducted. Hot, nutritional breakfast and lunch will be provided plus snacks for those in the latch-key program.
Educational support and training is provided to all ages from kindergarten to adults. After-school and weekend remedial tutoring is conducted for reading, writing, mathematics, and computers by certified instructors. Parental mentoring and support is also provided that includes educational games, suggested projects plus home activities for the parents and children to do to aid in the educational process and academic growth of the student.
WCCA reaches out in numerous ways to aid and encourage the growth and improved life style for every individual in which we have contact. This is done by social illness awareness and prevention education (i.e., substance abuse, Aids, child abuse, sexually transmitted diseases, etc.). There are also plans for entrepreneurial training programs, cooperative education and business programs, youth training and activities, outreach mentoring services and programs, notary public services, consumer information services, and other planned programs.
