Mission

The mission of Community Soup Kitchen is:To provide free, nutritious meals on a regular schedule in greater New Haven community for the benefit of the poor and underprivileged.To enhance the dignity and sense of worth of all those who come to the kitchen by welcoming them wholeheartedly and warmly as guests.To provide of guests with access to various services during their visits, such as flu shots, health care, warm winter clothing and educational and job referrals.

Lunch Program

Community Soup Kitchen provides lunch four days a week in our dining room in the parish house of Christ Church Parish, which is located at 84 Broadway in New Haven.

Population(s) Served

Community Soup Kitchen works with three other churches, Saint Martin De Porres, Saint Luke's & Saint Paul's UAME to provide breakfast 4 days a week.

Community Soup Kitchen works with Saint Luke's Parish to provide lunch to Women & Children on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Over the summer when the Wednesday community lunch at St. Thomas More is closed, we fill the gap by passing out peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, snacks, and juice out of a radio flyer wagon on the New Haven Green.
