BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music) is a multi-arts center located in Brooklyn, New York. For more than 150 years, BAM has been the home for adventurous artists, audiences, and ideas—engaging both global and local communities. What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

The Next Wave Festival features international cutting edge performance work each autumn; BAM Theater presents distinguished international theater each spring; BAM Opera presents new productions of opera not usually included in the standard repertoire, including baroque opera and works of the 20th century. BAM's Education and Humanities programs provides young people with high quality performance programs and special in-school and on-site initiatives, as well as contextual programming for adult audiences. BAM's annual DanceAfrica Festival is the largest festival of African and African-American dance in the nation. BAM's new four-screen BAM Rose Cinemas feature first-run independent films as well as retrospectives and special festivals that relate to live mainstage productions.
