Mission

F.R.E.E. - Friends of Refugees of Eastern Europe was founded in 1969 by the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, as the Chabad Lubavitch Refugee Program. F.R.E.E.'s mandate is to restore the Jewish identity and Jewish education diminished through over seventy years of communist oppression, by assisting Jewish immigrants from the Former Soviet Union in all moral, spiritual, religious, educational and financial / material areas of their new lives in the FREE world. Ever since, F.RE.E. has successfully aided tens of thousands of Jews. Serving as the first such organization, F.R.E.E. is America's largest Jewish organization serving Jewish refugees with their spiritual and material needs.
