What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Our grantmaking program is our primary initiative. This year we are granting $150,000 to 23 organizations on Long Island to support programs for women and girls. Our annual Gender Equity in Education Conference has close to 200 attendees from L.I High Schools, community reps and parents. Our annual signature Women Achiever's Breakfast held each November has over 700 attendees. It honors local women achievers and a H.S student as well as our grantees.

Young Woman's Leadership Program- GirlsFLI

GirlsFLI develops the next generation of young women leaders and promotes youth philanthropy by bringing together high school girls from diverse ethnic, racial, socio-economic and geographic areas to discuss and act upon issues facing young people in their communities. With guidance from WFLI, these young women decide for themselves how to reach across their differences to jointly help prevent problems such as gang violence, drugs, bullying, self-esteem and collaborate to change the dialogue…and the outcomes.
