Our programs

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

In addition to our religious services, which are held every Shabbat and holidays, we offer varied educational, cultural and social activities. These programs cater to the wide array of interests of our diverse neighborhood in a location that is convenient to all. Some of these activities include adult education classes covering topics from literature to art and traditional text study to current events. We offer lecture series, concerts, art displays and other cultural gatherings.

Our Hebrew School covers all ages and prepares our students to live Jewish lives. Along the way they will learn Jewish history, culture, language, music, texts and much more. We provide an excellent education; most of our teachers either have or are pursuing advanced Judaic degrees. These courses aid our students as they prepare for their Bar or Bat Mitzvah, Confirmation and Jewish adulthood. Additionally, our Youth and Family committee provides numerous other programs for our youth including our Purim Carnival and special Shabbat services for toddlers, young children and pre-teens.

We now offer various service styles reflecting the diverse makeup of our congregation. A professional choir and organ accompany at least four Shabbat services a month, in the Classical Central European tradition. Beth Am?s traditions continue with piano-accompanied services that contain original music and lay-led components.

Two different types of services suitable for children are held monthly.
