Childbirth Connection helps women, caregivers, policy makers and the media understand results of the best available research about effects of maternity practices, make informed decisions, and to obtain or provide safe and effective care. Special initiatives focus on labor pain management, continuous support during labor, cesarean section and vaginal birth after cesarean, and ensuring that women's voices are included in the dialogue on improving maternity care and better meeting the needs of childbearing women and families. Our website, www.childbirthconnection.org, is an essential source of trustworthy information and resources on safe and effective maternity care for women, caregivers and the media.
