Mission

DOCO was founded in 1999 and depends on private funding and volunteer leadership. Our mission is to provide financial aid to charitable institutions and organizations that shelter and educate Druze orphans in the Middle East countries; to aid handicapped children; to help facilitate education for needy children; to support care facilities for the elderly; to instill in our children the importance of sharing with the less fortunate; to inspire and help create role models among the youth to secure a good future for our community.

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Funds go toward: providing food, healthcare, clothing, shelter and education for 1400 orphans in Lebanon and Syria; establishing and supporting a computer Lab for the orphans in Lebanon; supporting a special school for handicapped children in Syria; helping to pay living and tuition expenses for graduating orphans wishing to attend high school in Lebanon; encouraging young women from remote villages in Lebanon to pursue university education in the city by providing them affordable lodging; providing help to a Center in Syria that councils youngsters who stray because their families are unable to care for them; contributing to the Elderly Reserve Fund in Lebanon; shipping donated computers, books, medicines etc. to wherever they are needed.
