What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Books for Schools & After-School Programs
Adopt-A-Book places new and “fun-to-read” books in school libraries and/or after-school programs. Our books are pre-screened for quality of content and grade/age leveled to match the student mix. These books are read by hundreds of students each year to promote the love of reading. Our goal is to continue to support our local schools & libraries by adding new and entertaining books to update their existing library. In addition to our school program, we fund new books to be read by the hundreds of students participating in after-school programs.
Adolescent Literacy
Adopt-A-Book Teens & Tweens Literacy Challenge provides new books for community agencies that serve adolescents. Books are hand selected for age-appropriate, correct reading level and interest. Special collections are recommended for reluctant readers or low literate readers. In addition, the Literacy Challenge encourages teens to engage with their local library.
