Program 1

In 2019, the Acts of Mercy Foundation continued its focus on mental health and suicide prevention. In partnership with Saddleback Church, Kay Warren collaborated with the Hope for Mental Health ministry to hold a monthly community gathering for individuals living with mental illness, family members, and individuals looking to serve with the ministry. The foundation partnered with Saddleback Church to host Breathe, a restorative retreat for mothers of children with mental illness. In addition, Kay furthered the ministry and collaborated through the PEACE Plan by returning to Rwanda and speaking at events for pastors wives and ministry leaders, where she laid the foundation to discuss mental health and suicide prevention. Kay continued her advocacy by presenting at the following conferences: National Council for Behavioral Health, American Association of Suicidology, and the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission. She also served as a board member for the National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention; and continued her work with Be Well Orange County on mental health and wellness efforts in Orange County.
