Learn to work with different mudras to refine the awareness and connect with pranic flows to deepen your practice through prana awareness practices and mudra pranayamas.

In this workshop Swami Shankardev bring's his decades of experience to clearly and systematically elucidate vitals aspects of the Yoga Sutras with a view to furthering one's understanding and practice of Raja Yoga.

Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, which form the system of Raja  Yoga, the King of Yogas, are a shining star in the pantheon of sacred yoga texts that illuminate the path to the Self. Though the techniques of Raja Yoga are difficult to master the Sutras summarize the essence of the highest yoga.

The first three sutras of Patanjali summarize the whole of the practical aspects of yoga philosophy as a philosophical system.  The rest of the text is a manual of how to achieve union with the highest Self.

Raja Yoga is paired with Samkhya, the Indian system of cosmology, which is the theoretical basis on which all Indian philosophy is based.  To really progress on the path of yoga it is helpful to know about Samkhya as it enables the aspirant to navigate the path from limited, conditioned ego consciousness, to awareness of the highest Self.

Hatha Yoga Pradipika elucidates the entire science of hatha yoga as it was conceived and practised, not for health and fitness only, but for awakening the pranas, chakras and kundalini shakti. This text points out that hatha yoga is not just a physical practice but a process of cellular transmutation from gross, to subtle to divine. Thus hatha yoga was considered the foundation of all higher yogas. Take this unique opportunity to deepen your engagement with Hatha Yoga through a study of the Hatha Yoga Pradipika with Swami Muktibodhananda Saraswati, who wrote an authoritative translation and commentary based on the original text of Maharishi Swatmarama.

Swara Yoga ia an ancient science of panic body rhythms and explores how Prana may be controlled through the breath. Traditionally a closely guarded science, it has been rarely taught outside of India.

Swara Yoga enables us to understand the nature of the breath, its influence on our personality, and develops awareness of the manifestation of Prana within our own being.

Delve into this fascinating subject with Swami Muktibodhananda, who wrote an in-depth book on the subject!
