Mission

Many of our kids come from low-income and minority families and don?t have access to an affordable sports camp in their own neighborhood and cannot afford more expensive local programs. We offer an affordable baseball program that gives kids the chance to play sports without traveling too far from home. We have grown from 1 baseball team three years ago to over 22 teams in 2007. We anticipate this growth will continue to increase in the coming years, and our operating costs will also increase, as well as our need for more volunteers to help run the program.

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

We operate with a volunteer staff of core administrative members and our management/coaching staff teach the kids fundamentals of baseball and coach them in organized baseball games. In 2007, we had approximately 320 members ranging in age from 5-15. We run an indoor baseball clinic in the winter and spring at an indoor gymnasium and play scheduled baseball games during the summer and fall, making for a nearly year-round program. This program has benefited many children and we want to continue to operate and expand.
