BIO

Rick Dunetz is the founder and executive director of The Side-Out foundation. His passion for volleyball and his role as a coach led him to create the foundation in honor of his mother, Gloria, who lived with breast cancer for six years. Over the last eleven years, Side-Out has grown from one small team to a national organization that partners with the volleyball community to inspire science and hope in the match against breast cancer. Side-Out is the only charity using the power and teamwork of the volleyball community to beat cancer.

Rick has coached volleyball in his local community for 13 years. Currently, he is the head coach of the Oakton girls freshman volleyball team and assistant coach for the girls varsity volleyball team in Vienna, Virginia. He is also active in the club volleyball community as the southern region director of Metro American Volleyball Club. He has numerous coaching certifications which include Gold Medal Squared, Sports Performance and CAP I.

Prior to establishing his presence in the sport of volleyball, Rick worked in the technology industry where he mastered the art of data mining. He is dedicated to utilizing his skills to make a difference for breast cancer patients and their families.
