What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
We have selected water allocation in the middle Rio Grande region as our first project and have begun to bring together a diverse group of water experts and stakeholder representatives within the state of New Mexico to join us in constructing agent-based models that will lead to a greater understanding of the complex issues surrounding water allocation and ultimately to a more equitable, efficient and sustainable management of our scarce water resources.
Our first project is currently taking place in Socorro county, NM, where we are working with the farming community to try and understand the mechanisms and motivations behind the transfer of water rights from agricultural to urban and industrial usage. This is a trend that is occurring not only in New Mexico but around the world.
