Day Hab Without Walls

Day Habilitation Without Walls for Adults with Developmental Disabilities in Brooklyn and Staten Island. When students with developmental disabilities graduate from NYC public schools, many receive services from Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) providers. In 2008, CANY joined the ranks of these providers and began a Day Habilitation Without Walls program. This program, like all CANY programs, emphasizes community inclusion and hands-on learning. But what makes ours truly unique is its commitment to helping our individuals develop well rounded independence. Through Sports and Fitness, Arts, Vocational, ADL and Recreation activities, all fully integrated into the community, our individuals are given the opportunities to become the best they can be.
