Our programs

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

We are achieving our mission by promoting and installing the EPA's SmartWay technology packages which increase efficiency by up to 25% through aerodynamics, weight reduction, efficient tires and exhaust filtering. We also work to replace the oldest dirtiest trucks on the road with the cleanest newest ones, increasing efficiency by up to 40%.

We have retrofitted over 1000 trucks with efficient technology. Our mission in the by 2013 is to retrofit or replace 50,000 trucks, saving 36 times the cargo capacity of the Exxon Valdez in fuel, 21 million tons of CO2 emissions and millions of dollars in pollution-related health-care costs over the lives of those trucks. We operate outreach centers in Coburg, Oregon, Portland, Oregon and Sacramento, California. In 2009-2010 we will expand to open outreach centers in Los Angeles, Medford and Seattle.
