Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
SEEDS is an interdisciplinary educational project focused on engaging with and implementing comprehensive responses to ecological crises by embracing scientific research and integrating with an action oriented learning environment where students and interns receive hands-on experiences within their area of focus. SEEDS projects are also intricately woven into various aspects of locally based and globally conscious sustainability initiatives?based on effective social and ecological transformation. Founded on the principals of social ecology, SEEDS initiates ecological designs, reconstructs natural environments that are in need, creates community based dialogs, cross generational and other diversity boundaries, integrates art and media, and works to dismantle various forms of oppression. SEEDS's programs and their outcomes serve as demonstrations to the world of successful, innovative, and intelligent solutions to the crises facing our time. As an action oriented community based educational organization, SEEDS predominantly serves communities in the Puget Sound area; however students and change agents come to us from all over the globe.
