Mission

Trashwater is a non-profit
providing innovative, clean water and sanitation solutions through partnerships
with communities in developing nations. Trashwater uses education, filtration,
and mobilization to maximize lasting change for those burdened by unsafe water
and unsanitary living conditions.

Millions of people in the world
do not have access to safe drinking water. By "not safe" we mean it
is potentially fatal or, at the very least, dangerous to consume. In many
areas, it is not an issue of access to water, rather access to clean water. To
help combat this immense problem, Trashwater offers a three-step solution:
education; filtration; and mobilization.

At Trashwater, we envision a day
when every community will have access to safe water supplies and sanitary
conditions. It is easy to take for granted ready access to a safe supply of
drinking water, a toilet, a place to wash dishes and clothes, and a shower and
yet nearly one billion people lack these most basic necessities. Creating
accessible, safe water and sanitation supplies in developing nations liberates
people from disease and death and empowers them to live healthier, fuller, more
productive lives.

Four Steps to Fulfilling the
Mission

EDUCATION

Creating awareness about the
world's number one health problem in our own community and the communities we
serve through events, curriculum, and classes.

FILTRATION

Working with existing water supplies
in developing nations to provide innovative clean water solutions.

SANITATION

Equipping communities with the
tools and resources necessary for addressing hygienic and sanitation issues.

MOBILIZATION

Raising awareness, developing
partnerships, and empowering the communities we serve through sustainable
relationships.

Trashwater is committed to providing clean water solutions
that are primarily, but not exclusively, centered around ultra-violet
filtration. Other clean water solution may include, rain water catchments, desalination
systems, fresh water wells, solar filtration systems, or water treatment
facilities. Because providing clean water only addresses part of the health
issues in these communities we also provide innovative, efficient, and sustainable
sanitation solutions.
   Trashwater utilizes partnernships with
existing organizations in the areas we serve: clinics; orphanages; schools; and
feeding programs. Our partners have spent great amounts of time and resources
learning about and working within these communities. Trashwater comes alongside
these organizations to offer holistic ways of improving lives. These
partnerships enable us to bring much needed services into target communities
such as medical, job training, micro-t industry, and art education. Most
importantly,
Trashwater is committed to long term
relationships with the communities we serve for he purpose of ongoing
education, program development, project evaluation, and sustainable impact.
