What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
+ Centrally dispatched, our volunteers work in teams of two. Upon request, one Safe Knights volunteer drives the impaired patron home in the patrons own vehicle while the other Safe Knights driver follows in a 'chase car'.
Our Objective utilizes a combination of traditional fund raising efforts and social enterprise to protect the general public by preventing impaired driving tragedies before they happen.
Our Funding relies on corporate sponsorship from bars, restaurants and other businesses in addition to membership funding and donations from individuals. The core activity of Safe Knights serves the dual purpose of encouraging future donations to support our mission while stopping impaired driving before it can happen.
As a 501(c)(3) Public Charity, we operate with around 350 individuals at any given time (Directors, Executives, and General Volunteers). Stationed in several supporting locations, we will assist anyone in the Omaha Metro area as our capacity allows.
Operating at normal capacity, we are able to service 500 calls per month. Assuming an average of 2.5 patrons per call, we can assist up to 150,000 patrons per year in Omaha. Each car we drive is one less impaired DRIVER on the road.
