Y2Kwanzaa Org

Y2Kwnaza.Org anticipates that youth will exhibit enhanced self-efficacy and personal agency, a greater perception of individual and group self-esteem; elevated
post program retention of the Kwanzaa and Nguzo Saba curriculum concepts, compared to pre-program awareness. Y2Kwanzaa.Org anticipates a reduced
proclivity towards self-destructive behavior, violence, ATOD use, and early sexual debut. Y2Kwanzaa.Org also anticipates an enhance desire for self-knowledge
and historical perspective among participants. An anticipated byproduct of attending the Harambee Pre-Kwanzaa Festival and a major contributor to youth
participants’ enhanced wellbeing is the joy they will experience being together during the performance of the show. Built into the series of pre and post offerings is a
data collection component. Pre and post surveys, and interviews will be conducted to track the efficacy of this approach. The Data will be reviewed to assess our
participant's pre-program awareness and post program retention of Kwanzaa and Nguzo Saba curriculum concepts. All data collected will be documented and
interviews videoed. Movement will be measured through an assessment of the data collected via pre and post surveys and interviews conducted.

Prior to attending the Harambee Pre-Kwanzaa Festival, Y2kwanzaa .org will offer schools, a pre-concert, in-service training for teachers and an in-school
assembly, to familiarize teachers and students with Kwanzaa and the Nguzo Saba. These offerings are part of a package that include a musical lecture
demonstration, the fieldtrip to the Annual Harambee Pre-Kwanzaa Festival, (HPKF) and a series of follow-up workshops. Harambee Pre-Kwanzaa Festival
inculcates ethical values, promotes productive behavior and positive outcomes for the youth who participate in this process. Y2kwanzaa.Org has a curriculum,
teacher guidebooks, student workbooks, and a staff of trained facilitators to deliver workshops and trainings. Workshop offerings will be virtual or in person.

Y2Kwanzaa.Org promotes cultural health, art, and education, through entertainment. Our interest in health is broad and diverse. For 22 consecutive years,
Y2Kwanza presented the Harambee Pre-Kwanzaa Festival as a field trip for Chicago area schools, and the Harambee Na Nguzo Saba as a community
celebration, during Kwanzaa. Y2Kwanzaa.Org co-sponsored two virtual online
Kwanzaa events in December 2020 and 2021 during the COVID shutdown and continued its work in the areas of culture and health with a $2000.00 grant funded by the Hyde Park Kenwood
Interfaith Council, to execute the Future of Food program in the summer of 2021. The Future of Food introduced urban youth to the efficacy, and challenges, of
local food production. Partnering with the Department of Public Health on the city, county, and state levels, Y2Kwanzaa.org facilitated distribution of ATOD
education materials to thousands of youths, at Harambee Pre-Kwanzaa Festival events. Y2Kwanzaa collaborated with the American Heart Association, to pass
Chicago’s clean indoor air ordinance. Through the Respiratory Health Association of Chicago, Y2 Kwanzaa executed, Courage to Quit, a $75,000 smoking
cessation Grant, and fought together with Illinois’ Attorney General to protect black youth, from Brown and Williamson's, KOOL Mix Tobacco Campaign, resulting in
the Master Settlement Agreement. As a delegate agency to Illinois’ Department of Human Services, Y2kwanzaa.org executed a $20,000 Abstinence Grant, to
combat youth early sexual debut. Y2K meets youth where they are, promoting cultural health and education. The Harambee Pre-Kwanzaa Festival Revived,
provides a unique, transformative, cultural experience, for Chicago area youth, their families, and communities.

Cobbala Productions and later Y2kwanzaa.Org, over 23 consecutive year of producing and promoting health and culture in Black communities, have impacted the lives of tens of thousands Chicago area youth, through our various programs and collaborations, like the Annual Harambee Pre-Kwanzaa Festival and the community Kwanzaa celebration called Harambee Na Nguzo Saba. Our organizations have been on the front lines and behind the scenes to effecting positive change for over two decades. Three accomplishment that we are most proud of is the work to facilitate Chicago's Clean Indoor Air Ordinance, our collaboration with States Attorney Lisa Madigan's Office and other States Attorneys across the country, to stop tobacco giant, Brown and Williamson's KOOL MIX Campaign, resulting in the Master Settlement Agreement, and the presentation of the 2007 Harambee Pre-Kwanzaa Festival at the House of Hope Arena where 6000 Chicago Public School youth attended.
