What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
The National Museum of Surveying purpose is to educate the general public on the history of the profession of surveying by offering a variety of exhibits and artifacts. Currently, the bulding the museum will occupy is under construction to accommodate the museum and its exhibits. The opening of the museum is scheduled for 2009.
Science on a Sphere
The Science on a Sphere is our marquee exhibit for students, as this exhibit shows the world at a truly unique perspective. With only 60 in the world, the 68 inch dynamic globe shows Earth system data in 360 degrees. At the museum, the museum tailors the presentation for the curriculum of teachers. Also, the SOS can be truly unique as a presentation tool for students' projects, as they can create their own datasets for the globe. Finally, we incorporate the globe into local events and holidays.
