Mission

Moving Mountains China provides scholarships to female honor students who have been accepted into the best high schools in their counties. But with an average family income of only $266 a year, the $338 tuition is completely out of reach. Moving Mountains China matches the students with their sponsors and allows them to exchange letters twice a year.

Our mission is to alleviate poverty and promote gender equality through education by creating an opportunity for sponsors to make a direct impact on the future of a deserving student.

High school scholarship

Moving Mountains provides educational opportunities to exceptionally bright young women in rural China. These girls understood the importance of education at a young age. Despite challenging circumstances they have proven themselves with top scores on the rigorous entrance exams and they have been accepted into the best high schools in their counties. They have done the work and they have what they need to succeed, but there is one last hurdle: Their average family income is $266 a year. The cost of high school tuition is $338 a year.* To these girls, this is a monumental obstacle. Together, we can move mountains!
