Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Counseling and Investigative Services
The FHJC assists individuals and organizations with housing discrimination complaints and in exercising their fair housing rights. Through our one-of-a-kind testing program, Acting for Justice, trained professional actors conduct undercover investigations to gather information that may help complainants meet their burden of proof in an administrative hearing or court of law. The FHJC can also make legal referrals in many situations. (Note – GuideStar limits organizations to listing only five geographic areas in their service area, but FHJC serves the five boroughs of New York City and the seven surrounding New York counties of Dutchess, Nassau, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Suffolk, and Westchester.)
