Mission

BuildingAFRICA is a non-profit, non-governmental, backbone organization whose mission is to empower the people of rural Africa by developing HEAT Centers that house and deliver healthcare, education, agriculture, and technology programs and services to create sustainable communities through collaboration and collective impact. As the backbone organization of this collective impact initiative, our uniquely holistic approach is built on developing vital infrastructure capacity and delivering essential services in three key ways: The HEAT concept encompassing healthcare, education, agriculture, and technology as the four "pillars" of sustainable community with tight integration and synergy between these four vital areas. An extraordinary commitment to collaboration between BuildingAFRICA and its strategic global and local partners in providing these services. The efficient and coordinated delivery of these services through a central location that can also serve as a hub for the community to bring people together. We are very proud to be working with four exceptional global strategic HEAT partners: the Baylor College of Medicine and Baylor International Pediatric AIDS Initiative at Texas Children's Hospital (Healthcare); the Center for Unconventional Security Affairs at the University of California, Irvine (Education); the Savory Institute (Agriculture); and the California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology (Technology). We believe the combination of collective impact, targeted vital services, and cultural competence offers the highest chance for developing the transformative empowerment and resilience the people of Africa are seeking. We are determined to change people's lives and help them build their own future.
