Food Pantry Program

Colonial Heights Food Pantry (CHFP) is a volunteer-run and community supported operation. With one full time Executive Director, one Volunteer Coordinator and 2,280 volunteers working 14,292 hours FY 2014, our pantry provided nearly 33,000 services to our worthy clients. In addition to providing food and services provided to CHFP by our community, our Pantry also distributes food through the government supplemented USDA program. While supplying clients' households with food to help improve their health remains our primary objective, as we came to know and understand our clients, we learned that there are other ways in which we can benefit them. With this knowledge, our pantry has grown to become distinguished and unique in what we do taking a holistic approach to our clients. CHFP collaborates and partners with established community resources maintaining mutual referral relationships with many private and government agencies. These relationships allow us to refer our clients to their services that are in place to improve their quality of life and encourage self-reliance.
