What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Partnership Grantmaking
MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger awards partnership grants to a variety of different anti-hunger organizations, including but not limited to: food banks, soup kitchens and food pantries, kosher meals-on-wheels programs for homebound elderly people, multi-service centers that provide poor, hungry and homeless families with food, shelter and counseling, and state and national organizations that conduct research and education activities and work for public policies that can bring about long-term solutions to the epidemic of hunger.
Education & Advocacy
MAZON
practices and promotes advocacy as a means for ensuring that hungry people can
access the resources they need to survive. MAZON led the anti-hunger community in
embracing public policy as a means of advancing anti-hunger agendas and
empowers synagogues and their congregations with information and resources so
they can advocate on behalf of the growing number of hungry people in their
communities.
Strategic Initiatives
MAZON
develops and implements strategic initiatives designed to advance knowledge and
capacity within the anti-hunger community.
This is Hunger
This community engagement program will illuminate the profound prevalence of hunger in America, encourage us to raise our voices on behalf of the 40 million Americans who struggle with hunger every day, and ignite our community’s commitment to end hunger once and for all.
Synagogues
We have a network of nearly 1,000 synagogue who mobilize their congregations and their communities to help us end the injustice of hunger. We visit partner synagogues all over the country to raise awareness about hunger, explore ways to engage the Jewish community to advocate for effective hunger policies, and create educational tools and activities for students of all ages
