Population(s) Served

The Adams County SPCA is tackling the free roaming cat problem in Adams County to improve the lives of our community cats and their relations with the community. The goal of Trap-Neuter-Return is to stabilize the population. The program involves humanely trapping stray and feral cats and having them vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and eartipped (the universal symbol of a neutered and vaccinated cat). The program also trains caretakers how to properly, feed and shelter the cats while concurrently acknowledging that the cats are not welcome in all locations. Humane methods such as natural deterrents and ultrasonic devices are used to divert cats to appropriate locations.
