EMERGENCY SHELTER - TO PROVIDE WOMEN AND THEIR CHILDREN A HOME DURING A TIME OF CRISIS OR LIFE TRANSITION AS WELL AS THE TOOLS THEY NEED TO BECOME SELF-SUFFICIENT AND ACHIEVE STABLE HOUSING ON A PATH TO INDEPENDENCE. 86 WOMEN AND THEIR CHILDREN WERE SERVED THROUGH EMERGENCY SHELTER SERVICE IN FY 19-20. 75% TRANSITIONED TO POSITIVE HOUSING SITUATIONS. 100% OF THE WOMEN WHO ENTERED THE SHELTER HAD WRITTEN GOAL STATEMENTS AND ACTION STEPS SET FORTH WITHIN 24 HOURS OF ENTRY INTO THE HOME.

THE SHARP PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO ADDRESS THE UNIQUE NEEDS OF CHRONICALLY HOMELESS WOMEN AND HELPS HOMELESS, DISABLED, LOW-INCOME WOMEN RECEIVE RENT SUBSIDY AND CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES TO LIVE INDEPENDENTLY AND ELIMINATE RECIDIVISM. THE PROGRAM PROVIDES SUPPORT SERVICES AND A LONGER-TERM OPTION FOR THOSE WHO ARE DISABLED AND HAVE PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS, MAINTAINING A FOCUS ON MOVING TOWARDS INDEPENDENCE. 6 WOMEN ENDURING CHRONIC ILLNESS, CHRONIC HOMELESSNESS WERE HELPED TO CREATE STABLE LIVING CONDITIONS THROUGH THE SHARP PROGRAM IN FY 19-20. SOME HAVE GAINED EMPLOYMENT THROUGH THE NEWLY ESTABLISHED FOR-PROFIT ENTERPRISES ESTABLISHED AS A RESULT OF PARTNERSHIP WITH THE SOCIAL ENTERPRISE FOUNDATION.
