What we aim to solve

Good News. That’s what the Gospel is. And in a world filled with hate, violence, and destruction, we all could use some hope and Good News. Yet, almost 2 billion people on earth have not even had the chance to hear the best news of all—that they can have eternal life through Jesus Christ. If this is Good News, then why aren’t we sharing it? At Evangelism Explosion, we believe the answer to reaching our world for Jesus Christ is the Church. But for the Church to be effective, it must be willing and able to share that Good News and teach others to do the same. That’s where EE can help. By working together, we can make strides to reach every person with the Good News of Jesus Christ in the next four years.

Our programs

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Revitalizing America

America needs a witnessing church.

The book, Lost in America, claims that more than 50% of American churches didn’t lead one single person to Jesus Christ in an entire year. How can that be? Many American churches no longer believe that personal evangelism works. Over the next 16 years we want to create a movement to change the conversation on evangelism and multiply witnesses to revitalize America for the Glory of God.

Changing the Conversation on Evangelism through:

* Local Area Teams - “On-Loan” evangelism pastors, lay leaders and EE field staff coming together to strategically evangelize their community

* EE Prayer Network - focusing our prayers toward revivial and teaching our staff and donors how to pray

* Equip America - Engaging local churches in a city-wide movement that will change their communities.

* Share Life Today Radio - Changing the conversation about evangelism on more than 700 stations nationwide

Our Goal:

Equip 5,000 active churches to train 50,000 believers to share with and lead 5 Million people to profess faith in Jesus Christ in the next four years.

WE BELIEVE that 100 million new Christians will bring about revitalization to America. During the next four years, we are laying the groundwork for that revival by changing the conversation on evangelism and showing people that the Gospel still transforms lives.

Building a firm foundation in the next generation.

Christianity has always been just one generation from extinction. According to Barna Research, 61% of young adults (ages 20-30), who had been churched at one point in their teen years, are now spiritually disengaged (not actively attending church, reading the Bible, or praying). If we, as Christ’s followers, aren't able or willing to pass the baton to the next generation, it will cease to exist.

We believe that if we are able to build a firm foundation in children, centered around evangelism and discipleship, we will see them stay the course: both in college and into adulthood.

Evangelism through EE Hope For Kids:
As young believers, children have the potential for a lifetime of Kingdom work. As children grow in their faith, we hope to assist them to become witnesses for Jesus Christ and show them how to bring others to a saving faith in Jesus Christ.

Discipleship through Explorer's Club:
When children are introduced to Jesus Christ, we build a firm foundation. As we clarify the Gospel, children have the opportunity to grow deeper in their faith and better understand who God is and who they are in His eyes.

Firm Foundation:
Children don’t remain children. As they grow up and enter their college and young adult years, we want to equip them for the
challenges they will face. By seeing, experiencing, and ultimately sharing with others the transforming power of the Gospel at a young age, they will be better prepared to stand strong when difficulties arise.

Our Goal:

Equip 16,000 churches to train 1.6 million young believers to share with and lead 16 million children to profess faith in Jesus Christ.

Reaching the world with the Good News.

In 1996, Evangelism Explosion reached into every nation on earth. Today, our goal is to help them become indigenous, self-governing, and self-sufficient, as well as assist other nations in their growth. In 2010, we established standard criteria that would help nations obtain and maintain the status of a “Multiplying Nation.”

A Multiplying Nation:
• Contains an active EE ministry that is growing and multiplying within a variety of denominations.
• Provides EE training materials to ministries of all age groups in their nation.
• Has its own governing board and director.
• Develops an annual plan, maintains a budget, and sets obtainable goals each year.
• Is able to fund full or part-time field staff.
• Multiplies itself by assisting growing nations in their region.

Creating a Global Partnership:
Our experience has shown us that we have a lot to learn from each other. When we work together we are able to think creatively, partner across borders and hold each other accountable as we work to spread the Gospel.

Goals & Strategy

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

EE’s vision and goal is:

Every nation equipping every people group and every age group to witness to every person.

EE’s purpose and strategy is:

To glorify God by equipping believers in and through local churches to multiply —through friendship, evangelism, discipleship, and healthy growth.

Every person needs to hear the Good News!

Our founder Dr. D. James Kennedy believed that the only way to keep up with the population explosion was to have an “evangelism explosion.” The only way that can happen is for Christians to know how to witness and show others how to do the same.

Evangelism Explosion was built upon four key truths:
• Every Christian must be a witness
• They must be trained to share the Gospel
• The best way to train them is on-the-job training
• They must learn how to train others as well (Spiritual Multiplication)

What makes Evangelism Explosion unique is that we walk with pastors and lay leaders, just like Jesus did, and teach them how to take the Gospel into the community.

Then, we train them how to train others, creating an Evangelism Explosion!

EE has a team of over 1,000 individuals around the world working to assist local churches in training their lay people how to witness. EE is uniquely equipped with a variety of tools for different cultures and age groups.

Since its beginning, Evangelism Explosion has helped individuals share the Good News of Jesus Christ, worldwide. Thousands of churches are using EE to train their congregations and other believers in their communities to share their faith.

Millions have made decisions to follow Jesus.

In 2019 alone, more than 11 million people made professions of faith as a result of the over 37,000 churches worldwide that are using the ministry of EE. And yet, we have managed to keep costs low.

The cost per Profession of Faith in 2017 was $0.90.

But we could do so much more!

2019 Results:

Training Events: 1,892
Active Churches: 37,377
New Churches: 6,986

Conservatively estimated numbers:

Teacher/Trainers: 38,000
Trainers: 187,000
Trainees: 586,000
Professions of Faith: 11,800,000
