What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Community Base
Community Based - The traditional Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring program. Volunteers spend time with a child for two or three hours, two or three times a month in the community.
School/Site Based
School/Site Based - Bigs and Littles meet for one-to-one mentoring in the afterschool program at partnering schools. The “matches” meet in the school library, neighborhood community center, or other set locations. Bigs and Littles typically meet once a week or every other week to focus on homework, read together, play sports or computer games, or talk about life and personal issues.
Amachi
The Amachi Program - pairs children of incarcerated parents with mentors. This program offers a proven and effective approach to break the cycle of intergenerational incarceration.
Bridge the Gap
Bridge the Gap Group Sessions focuses on ensuring that children in our program will gain insight on being a healthy adult through financial literacy, health and fitness, personal safety classes, college readiness and job shadowing. The program addresses the critical life skills that all youth need. During the pandemic, our programs are conducted as a virtual or social distance events. Each event includes our HUB of Service helpful information for parents, mentors and children.
