What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Santa's Village Holiday Gift Distribution Program
ESF has been bringing joy to disadvantaged children throughout Metro Atlanta since 1927.
During the annual holiday season, our Santa’s Village Holiday Gift Distribution Program provides qualifying children with gift packages that include two toys or gifts, a book, personal care items, and stocking stuffers that are all brand new and selected by their parents or legal guardians, giving hope to all regardless of economic status.
This program allows more children in need to feel joy throughout the holiday season and empowers parents and guardians to provide that experience for their families, without having to choose between buying presents and paying household bills.
Thanks to supportive donors and relationships with wholesalers, we acquire brand new items in large quantities to offer a variety of age- and gender-appropriate holiday gift choices and core school supplies year after year.
Kids In Need Free Teacher Store
Through our Kids in Need Free Teacher Store, we aim to relieve the financial burden placed on teachers to purchase school and classroom supplies -- allowing them to focus on teaching, and to ensure that every child has access to the tools they need to succeed in school.
Throughout the year, Title I school teachers are invited to 'shop' in our pop-up store, choosing from a variety of teaching resources with a retail value of up to $500. By leveraging our wholesale model, we are able to provide these items at a cost of just $150 per teacher. And with the help of supportive donors 2,500 Title I school teachers have the opportunity to shop for core supplies and other sought-after learning aids, including sensory items, STEM tools, arts and crafts supplies, and classroom décor annually.
Student Supply Kit Distribution Program
ESF's Student Supply Kit Distribution Program provides core school supplies to 30,000 students each year to help create more equitable learning environments, increase the variety and scope of projects offered to students, and increase student interest in learning by ensuring that every child has access to the essential and necessary tools to succeed.
We offer Student Supply Kits that include a backpack, notebooks, pens, pencils, and paper to eligible children. Often, lack of access to these basic school supplies deters students from engaging in the classroom, which can lead to economic challenges that last long beyond their school-aged years.
