Mission

Incorporated in 1969, the Islamic Association of North Texas is dedicated to providing services to the more than 150,000 Muslims living in the North Texas region. Through its headquarters at the Dallas Central Mosque the Association will provide worship services, religious education, public outreach and community service programs. Our goals include the education and preparation of young Muslims to become scholars and leaders of Islam; the propagation of Islam; and helping all Muslims in the region to fully develop their spiritually.

Daily Prayers

The organization's services and facilities include: Five daily prayers and weekly Friday prayer, as well as prayers for special religious occasions, such as Ramadan; Multiple programs that teach the Qur'an, the holiest book of Islam; A summer school that teaches about 250 students from all grade levels; An elementary school, which opened in August 2002; Thirty days of activities during Ramadan; Educational programs for Muslims and non-Muslims; A library for Islamic research; A community hall for community and sporting events; Extensive refugee services, clothes closet and food pantry; Free medical clinic; A speaker program for churches, schools, universities, prisons and other institutions; Two permanent musallahs - small mosques that provide area Muslims with a convenient place to take part in daily prayers - one in the Telecom Corridor of Richardson and the other in East Dallas.
