VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT AND REFERRAL PROGRAM Dedicated to strengthening the Napa Valley by closing the gap between individuals wishing to volunteer their time and talents and non-profit organizations dedicated to improving the quality of life for the citizens of this community. The Volunteer Center's Recruitment and Referral Program provides a single point of contact to mobilize Napa Valley's Community members, local businesses and non-profits in both good times and in times of disaster. Business Volunteers- professional services volunteers, Corporate Volunteer Council - corporate group volunteers, Aged to Perfection - senior volunteers, -NV CARD (Coordinating Agencies Ready for Disaster)- Building Community-Based Organizations Resilience using education focused on preparing to prosper and thrive using simple "no fear" messages and humor. Convergent and CERT volunteer response management.  SENIOR SERVICES PROGRAM: Dedicated Senior Services staff and volunteers are committed to providing services that improve the quality of life of seniors in our community and extend the time they are able to live independently in their own homes, avoiding premature placement in a facility. DISASTER PROGRAM: The Volunteer Center of Napa Valley has an agreement with the County of Napa to be the convening point for all convergent and CERT volunteers during times of disaster. At the request of the City and County of Napa, the Volunteer Center of Napa Valley set up a Volunteer Reception Center in our office that processed over 300 volunteers who helped with shelters, damage assessment, traffic control, transport of disabled evacuees, mitigation of the flood effects for seniors and disabled in harms way, and the clean up of the homes and small businesses.
