What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Membership Development
Membership donations are a key component of the revenue needs of the Trust. Funds in this area supplement the normal operating costs associated with managing four buildings. Those buildings include The Palace Theatre, James/Stark Building, the Union Trust Building, and Greensburg Garden & Civic Center. Current membership levels average $95,000 per year. Long term success would be a 10% increase or $104,500 per year.
Performance Fund
An important part of our mission is to enhance the number and quality of cultural experiences in the community. However, a challenge is the financial risk associated with each performer. Specifically, the bigger the talent, the higher the fee which increases financial risk. Typically, 40% of shows do not break even. This fund would allow for losses on a show which would enable The Palace Theatre programming staff to extend the cultural experiences of the community. A revolving fund of $250,000 is our goal.
Palace Rehabilitation Fund
The Palace Theatre has served the community well since its reopening and last major renovation. The Trust is proud of the economic benefits and cultural influence that it has brought to the community. In fact, we believe the yearly economic impact in the community is $7.1m. Yet the normal wear and tear of 140 events per year has taken its toll. Several upgrades are needed including safety and code issues. An ongoing rehabilitation plan with funding is needed.
