How does this organization make a difference?

Overview

Self-reported by organization

Accomplishments1.) Providing funding for the Library's first-ever STEM programming, which helps to enhance the need for STEM education in the two school districts we serve.2.) Providing funding for a handicap accessible book-drop on the upper level of our Library, which allows patrons to remain in their car to return materials.3.) Providing funding for outside groups to come in to the Library as an extension of our Summer Reading Club Program. Programs like Jeff the Geode Guy, and visits from the Zoo and Aviary were part of this extended programming. Goals1.) To continue, and expand on our funding of STEM related programming, as it is a priority in our Library to work along-side the local school districts.2.) To provide funding for tablets in our computer lab for instructional use in our computer classes and on a one-on-one basis. We hope to ultimately provide both Apple and Android devices.3.) To begin fundraising for an outdoor garden area on the Cumberland Road side of our building which will provide a safe and handicap accessible outdoor programming and exploration space.4.) To potentially fund the modification of our meeting room space, focusing on upgrading the technology within the space to make it current and a valuable community asset.
