Mission

Crawford County CASA, Inc. under professional leadership, trains and provides citizen volunteers to advocate for the best interests of children who are involved in juvenile court proceedings primarily as a result of abuse and/or neglect. These volunteers conduct an independent investigation, establish working relationships with all parties and services, report their findings and recommendations to the court, and help monitor compliance with family service plans and court orders. Crawford County CASA is dedicated to ensuring that children have a safe, permanent and nurturing home in the shortest time frame possible.

Notes from the nonprofit

Year 2014 has been a challenging year for Crawford County CASA. In April we lost 65% of our annual operating funds from the local court. The court assures us that this is not a reflection on the quality of CASA’s work, but a fiscal reality caused by budget cuts at the county level. With this magnitude of a funding loss Crawford County CASA has had to face the reality of restructuring its
current operations by reducing staff and moving three offices into one office.

With the continued support of generous and giving people, CASA can continue to focus on our mission to advocate for the “best interest” of children. We can continue to further our efforts to provide quality advocacy for abused and neglected children in Crawford County.
