What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Email Networking
In the several years Animal Aid & Rescue Foundation has been in place, we have made our mark. We are one of the few rescue organizations that has made an effort to establish a system that assists shelters, the public, rescue groups and individual rescuers in finding placements, assistance and funding. This occurs in the form of email networking. We organize the need in an easy to read, fact ready form and send out to hundreds on our distribution list. We follow up on the status of the case and provide updates when available. There is no question that by using the technology readily available to us that Animal Aid & Rescue Foundation has assisted thousands of animals through our contacts and commitment. While we are an all-volunteer organization, we would like to create a part-time paid position to allow for more networking.
AARF Angel Fund
We frequently get calls from our Vet regarding people who can't afford emergency vet services, but are otherwise providing good and loving homes for their animals. With your help, we can get these pets the treatment they need. There are many wonderful people who don't have the savings or the credit available to be able to pay for these unexpected events. Please consider donating to the AARF Angel Fund so they can help their pets live!
Low Cost Spay/Neuter program
After watching dog after dog be euthanized in Louisiana, we realized we couldn't adopt our way out of the overpopulation mess. So, 3 years ago, we collaborated with Louisiana Lifeline 4k9s and launched a low cost spay and neuter program to help curb the flow of unwanted pets into the shelters. May 2018 marked our 500th spay/neuter and we are so thrilled! Our program is gaining tracking through social media and television spots, our most recent event was our Pretty Pitty Spay event to offer free spaying to all Pit and Pit mixes as they are the breed that is most euthanized in the shelters.
