Our programs

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Free Art Workshops:
Angel Boy Art facilitates a myriad of projects and workshops through our Free Workshops Program. These projects range from one-on-one sessions in special needs children's homes to projects, lectures and exhibits open to the community. Projects with special needs children focus on meeting the individual physical and cognitive needs of each child and on providing support and advice to parents and caregivers. Projects with the community focus on education, hands-on experiences and providing opportunities for special needs children to gather with other children from the broader community.

Art Fairy Program:
The Art Fairy Program is dedicated to supplying economically disadvantaged special needs children with adaptive art supplies free of charge. This is a supportive program tailored to meet the needs of economically disadvantaged artists participating in free workshops and projects whose families can not sustain involvement in art projects at home without access to free materials. The Art Fairy Program was implemented in response to input from project facilitators who recognized programs would have a more dynamic impact if long-term involvement could be achieved. This program serves special needs children of all ages regardless of whether or not they choose to start an online gallery through Angel Boy Art. The Art Fairy Program strives to bring the vast therapeutic benefits of art to as many economically disadvantaged special needs children as possible providing supplies, advice, encouragement and support. By providing a highly individualized, comprehensive experience to each family, Angel Boy Art is able to reach its goal of bringing awareness of the therapeutic benefits of art to economically disadvantaged special needs children.

Free Online Galleries:
The Free Online Galleries hosted by Angel Boy Art can be viewed at www.angelboyart.com. Currently more than twenty young special needs artists are selling their art through these galleries. By participating in this program special needs children are able to raise money for their families. The majority of artists involved in this program come from economically disadvantaged families; therefore, the Online Galleries Program is specifically tailored to meet the needs of these struggling families. Participants are able to receive free art supplies through the Art Fairy Program and can send their creations to Angel Boy Art's headquarters COD if necessary. Angel Boy Art does not receive a commission on gallery sales and families pay no fees to participate in the program. Artists and families also receive individual support from Angel Boy Art staff to create projects specifically designed to meet the child's goals. Children who participate are able to learn about finances, feel good about contributing to their family and reap the therapeutic benefits of art.

Angel Boy Art's online galleries are unique because they provide a way to bridge the gap between special needs families and healthy families in the community. These galleries help break down stigmas about special needs children. Angel Boy Art's online galleries help the community understand special needs children and open up a path of open communication and education. All Angel Boy Art's galleries have links to educational references regarding that child's diagnosis which gives visitors an easy way to learn more. Galleries also have short biographies that are provided by the child's family. These assist visitors in gaining a better understanding of individual issues facing special needs families.
