What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Eagle Scholars

Eagle Scholars was created to assist students who are capable of entering college, but need assistance in becoming college ready. The 140 students in the program represent over 12 countries of origin though they all live in the small community of Vickery Meadow. Most are the first in their family to attend college.
Students are chosen after the sixth grade and continue in the program through college. The students attend six weeks of intensive programming each summer and weekly programming throughout the school year. They receive information on social skills, collaboration, team work, networking, career assessments, and visit a variety of cultural events and colleges. Our students attend and finish college at twice the rate of their peers.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

We are seeking to provide a pipeline of quality programs for children from early childhood through career.
The hope is to provide opportunities that will inspire a desire to learn, to keep the child academically competent, and to help the youth develop an inspiring vision for their own lives.

We have put into place three quality and evaluated early childhood programs.
For elementary school age children we support reading and science programs during the school year, after school, and in the summer.
For middle school youth we provide college readiness programs, sports, academic trips, and character development programs.
In high school students receive more college readiness programs, sports, robotics, debate, and academic incentives.
Once the student is in college we provide scholarships and mentors to help them be successful.
Additionally we provide evaluated programs for mothers on how to help their child to be successful.

Funding to provide needed and evaluated programs to address the goals.
Expertise in discerning needs and programs that are needed for achieving the goal of helping students and assisting schools.
A qualified board to help in garnering resources and credibility necessary for success.
Experience in bringing together stakeholders in collaborative decision making and program creation.
Over 25 years of experience working in this particular neighborhood.

A comprehensive evaluation method for a community with high mobility.
