Mission Statement

WideAwake.org is a fresh approach to online giving. We offer ordinary people the unique opportunity to find and support small but effective grassroots charities in developing areas of the world.

WideAwake.org is the marketplace and community where people can learn about our Affiliate organizations and support them through a gift of their time, funding, or by spreading the word. We choose to work with Affiliates whose work has a profound impact on those they serve. We also encourage donors to be proactive in their support, by allowing them to choose which organizations or specific projects they wish to fund. Thank you updates from the field allow givers to see the effect of their gifts first-hand.

WideAwake.org's Every Penny Policy is the hallmark of our organization.  Unlike others that can take 10-30% or more of a donation in fees, we promise that 100% of every donation meant for our Affiliates will reach our Affiliates, and we never take a percentage from donations to pay for our own operational expenses.

Program 1

Support for Local Grassroots Projects in Developing Countries

By removing the middlemen typically found in international charities, WideAwake.org connects donors directly to local grassroots charities - our Affiliates - that are working on the ground in developing areas of the world.  Donors can choose exactly which of our Affiliates' Projects they would like to support, and WideAwake.org promises never to take a single penny from our Projects' funding to pay for our own administrative expenses.
